Our Christmas/New Years Card & an Update on the Todd’s

Well this year we didn’t do a Christmas card, but now I wish we did. So next year expect one to come your way. Since I didn’t, I thought I’d do a blog and update you on the past week or so.

Chet and I have been very busy the past week because we’ve had a house full of guests. In the beginning of last week Chet had finals, we were cleaning, grocery shopping and getting ready for all our guests and Dylan & Shane came to visit. We hadn’t seen Shane since our wedding (a year and seven months ago), so it was really good hanging out with him. John came on Christmas Eve and celebrated Christmas with us.

All the guests had a great time at the B&B. Some were here for Christmas, which means Chet and I had to work on Christmas. But it wasn’t too bad. After we served them breakfast we gave them full use of the kitchen the rest of Christmas Day. That way we could celebrate Christmas as a family at the lake house. We had an amazing Christmas and it couldn’t of been any better. We don’t have that much snow at all. We actually wish we had more during Christmas so we could use our snow mobile, but unfortunately there wasn’t enough.

Well today was our family of guests and they checked out around 10am. We had until 2pm to clean the room, do all the laundry, get everything ready for Mary to take over while we’re at Texas and pack. We hurried, but we made it. We were flying stand-by and the loads looked horrible. All 50 seats were booked and we were both on stand-by. Two people had to not show in order for us to make the flight. Well……God is good! He did a miracle and we were the last two people on. Chet and I thought we weren’t going to make it and have to drive down to Missoula, which is 2 ½ hours away, stay the night in a hotel and try tomorrow. That would of cost a lot more money and time. But thankfully God’s plan prevailed and we made it!!!! Now we just have to make the flight from Denver to Dallas, TX. Pray we make it! Chris and Haleigh fly in on Thursday and Court and Nick drive down late Friday night. Then we’ll celebrate Christmas as a family. I can’t wait!!!!

Montana in December

A December in Montana is gorgeous!! Snow is everywhere in Marion, but with only a short drive to Kalispell the snow has melted. We’re at such a higher elevation that it makes a big difference with how much snow we get and how long it stays. It’s so easy to have it feel like Christmas because of the weather! I love it!

This is our second Christmas together, but it feels like our first because last year Chet was in military training so we came to Montana for a week in a half and then left. We didn’t get to decorate or anything. L So this year has been amazing! Literally! I feel like I’m a little girl during Christmas time. It truly is the happiest and best time of the year. Decorating, shopping for your loved ones, baking and enjoying family is the best. Chet and I cut down our very first Christmas tree. We bundled up and drove the truck to the Todd’s property. The sun was setting so we were in a hurry. As we were truckin’ through the snow for a while, Chet said ‘hey how about this one.’ I said sure it looks great! He cut it down, we brought it home and put it in our apartment and realized it was one special tree! That night we had the Christmas music going and decorated it together. The BEST!! I took a picture of it and my dad asked if a ¼ of our tree was missing, and I had to say yes! Oh well! It’s our first tree, we cut it down and it’s special. Who cares? I had been making several different Christmas crafts for the us and B&B, and I got to decorate the B&B and our apartment. Turned out awesome! I love making crafts now! It’s all about pinterest. So now we have this adorable apartment all decorated for the Christmas season.

I’ve also been crocheting a lot of things! I completed a gorgeous big round blanket I crocheted, several headbands with flowers, a cowl scarf (infinity scarf), a thick purple button scarf, several crocheted flowers, fabric flowers that I wear in my hair and I’m now working on a beanie. I’ve made a couple aprons and hemmed my first pair of pants and shorts! I love crocheting and I’m always trying to find new things to make. I have a list of course.

We have Chet’s brothers coming up to Montana for Christmas. This will be the first Christmas in a long time that all four boys, and Rick are all celebrating Christmas with the family on Christmas Day. Rick and John will sometimes have to fly on Christmas. We haven’t seen Shane since our wedding because he went to Singapore. So it will be one fun Christmas! We also have guests checking in the 20th and then again on the 22nd for Christmas so we will be very busy with the B&B. Around the 30th of December Chet and I are going to fly to Texas to spend Christmas with my mom, Ron, Chris, Haleigh, Nick & Court! I’m so excited!!!!! We’re flying stand-by so I pray we make it out on the 30th. So it will be a busy next couple weeks, but we can’t wait! And I can’t wait until Christmas day.

I hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.
