Where do I begin? I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in about a month. Life has been busy here in Montana. Well….I can say that winter has arrived. We have heaps of snow on the ground, but I’ll back up a bit before I start complaining about the snow already, just kidding (well maybe not). J
Chet and I are doing great up here. We have more time together than most couples, but we love it! Chet is very busy with school full time and it keeps him quite busy every week. The B&B has slowed down a lot lately, but hopefully we’ll get more guests. But we will have a busy Christmas with guests! I’ve been keeping myself busy with other things: bookkeeping & crafts!!!! I’m doing the B&B quickbooks, working for a company in town and doing their quickbooks and then also doing the Todd’s. When I have some down time I’ve been into crafts and crocheting things. I’ve made a blanket, scarf, headband ear warmers, flower headband and now I’m working on a cowl scarf. I’m also making a lot of Christmas decorations for us and the B&B. They’re turning out so cute and I’ll post pictures when I have them hanging.
And the snow has arrived! This past week we had a big snow storm/blizzard and one night it snowed over two feet, and it went into the next day as well. It’s been snowing this entire week off and on. The coldest it got was in the negatives, and Wednesday it was around zero degrees for most of the day. Chet has stayed very busy snow plowing. I just couldn’t believe how much it had snowed in one night, it’s crazy! I’m not used to it yet, but hopefully I will be soon. Take in mind our front and back decks at the B&B are huge and having to shovel all the snow after a huge storm is a lot of work. You get a good workout from shoveling snow. And the most disappointing thing is when you’re shoveling while it’s snowing so it just piles up again. I finally finished the front and back decks yesterday, but when we left this morning for the airport I saw they already needed it again.
This morning we woke up a little after 3am to get ready and go to the airport. It was snowing so much and the roads hadn’t been plowed yet, but Chet got us to the airport safely. There were zero spots open on my flight so I thought I wouldn’t make it, but two people switched flights so I made it on. WOO HOO! I now have to try making my next flight to Ontario. Chet made his first flight, which was a miracle as well. We have a wedding in California and then we’re celebrating thanksgiving and Christmas with my side of the family. It will be a fun week!
And the day I get back from California I’ll start decorating our place and the B&B with Christmas decorations. I CANNOT wait! I’m so excited that I feel like a little girl at Christmas. Last year Chet was in military training, we came to Montana for two weeks and we didn’t have our apartment put together so we couldn’t decorate. Well this is our first true Christmas all settled in, in Montana and I couldn’t be any more excited!!! I get to decorate our own place as a married couple for the very first time! And I’m making decorations, which is even better.
